Maybe your child has tried before - programs, schools, promises - and each time left a bruise on their spirit and on your hope.
Flourish Learning isn’t another system: it’s a microschool alternative in Gladstone, Oregon, created for kids who need more than tests and pressure. Here, children are seen, supported, and celebrated.
This is a safe and nurturing learning environment where academics and creativity come together, curiosity is honored, and confidence grows naturally.
You could send your kids to school with confidence, or even choose to homeschool with time and space to figure it out. But now, hustle culture is everywhere. The pressure on parents has never been heavier. Parents are overloaded, and kids are pushed to hustle in schools.
They race from subject to subject, from test to test. They have little space to breathe or be themselves. For our most sensitive & brilliant kids, hustle culture overload is way too much to bear.
Enter Flourish Learning.
It's not a school; it's a sanctuary.
A space where kids can learn with joy and confidence, and parents can finally exhale knowing their children are flourishing, naturally.
One truth I absolutely embrace is the more joyful and confident in their gifts kids are, the brighter our collective future.
We need their gifts alive and thriving.
That's why I choose joy and regulation over hustle. It makes all the difference.
Older children need a space that honors both their growing independence and their need for belonging. With Macie as their guide, 4th–8th graders find both structure and freedom - space to master academics while also exploring their creativity and curiosity.
I've spent 22 years teaching grades 6–12 in public schools as a teacher, dean of students, and curriculum coach. I left the system to create a space where learning could be innovative, supportive, and joyful. My passion is helping struggling and disengaged learners rediscover their confidence.
Differentiated learning that makes lessons accessible and enjoyable
Attunement to each child’s needs, building trust with even reluctant learners
A nurturing approach that helps students believe in themselves
Flourish Learning began with a simple but powerful vision: to create a learning community where children could thrive outside of the traditional system. Too often, kids feel like problems to be solved rather than people to be seen. We wanted to change that.
By blending structure with freedom, and academics with creativity, we’ve built a space where children rediscover the joy of learning. Here, curiosity is not only welcomed, it’s celebrated.
At Flourish Learning, we believe that:
Every child has unique gifts that deserve to be nurtured. Learning is most powerful when it’s rooted in connection and curiosity.
A supportive community helps children (and parents) feel safe, understood, and inspired. This isn’t another school. It’s a sanctuary, a place where children flourish naturally.
If your child is craving a space where learning feels alive again, we’d love to welcome you into our community. Together, we can create an environment where curiosity blooms, confidence grows, and joy returns to learning.
Flourish Learning is a learning community, not a school or a tutoring service. We provide small-group experiences that combine academics, creativity, and connection. Children aren’t “fixed” here—they’re seen, supported, and encouraged to flourish at their own pace.
We welcome 4th–8th grade learners, especially those who may feel disconnected or uninspired in traditional settings. Whether your child needs more challenge, more support, or simply a different environment, we create space for them to thrive.
Fun Fridays are weekly gatherings full of hands-on projects, field trips, guest speakers, games, and social connection. They’re designed to bring joy and community while sparking curiosity and friendships.
Not necessarily. Some families use Flourish Learning full-time, while others join a couple days a week to complement homeschooling or to supplement traditional schooling. We offer flexible enrollment options to fit your family’s needs.
The best way is to schedule a parent call with Macie. We’ll talk about your child’s needs, your family’s goals, and how our learning community can support both. Our goal is always to create a safe, joyful space where learning feels alive again.
We’re not a traditional co-op or a one-on-one tutoring service. Flourish Learning is a learning community designed for 4th–8th graders. Families searching for homeschool co-op support or tutor alternatives often find that what we offer is exactly what they’ve been looking for—small-group learning, flexible options, and a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
"Macie has been an extraordinary teacher and mentor to our child. She brings a unique blend of warmth, calm, and emotional steadiness to every interaction, creating a safe and nurturing environment in which our son truly thrives. What sets Macie apart is her ability to tailor each lesson to our child’s specific interests, seamlessly integrating educational goals in ways that feel both engaging and natural to him. As a first-time parent, I especially appreciate how communicative and open she is—always ready to offer thoughtful feedback and insights when asked. Most importantly, our son absolutely adores her and looks forward to every session with genuine excitement. We are deeply grateful to have Macie in our child’s life. Her impact has been nothing short of wonderful, and we cannot recommend her highly enough".

My 11yr old daughter started lessons with
Macie, she's amazing. She's also wonderful with
encouragement and making hard work fun. The changes in my kid already
are huge.
"Macie ignited a place inside of my daughter where she began to really believe in herself and her ability to learn new math skills. This has translated to my daughter feeling confident and curious as a learner in
other areas of life."
